The Township of Chamberlain encourages all residents and their families to be fully prepared in the event of an emergency.
Part of preparing for an emergency includes the preparation of an emergency kit as follows but not limited to a:
- Spare batteries;
- First-aid kit;
- Candles, matches, lighter;
- Extra car keys and cash;
- Identification for members of your family;
- Food and bottled water;
- Clothing and footwear;
- Blankets and sleeping bags;
- Personal hygiene items;
- Backpack; and
- Playing cards

The Township of Chamberlain encourages all residents to practice fire safety. It is law in Ontario to have working smoke alarms on every story and outside all sleeping areas.
CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS
The Township of Chamberlain reminds all residents that if your home contains at least one fuel-burning appliance (e.g., gas water heater or gas furnace), fireplace or an attached garage, you must install a CO alarm.

Ensure your 911 emergency sign at the end of your drive-way is clearly visible. Remember you are responsible for the condition of your 911 emergency sign.
